This week in class, I finally presented my World War Two presentation on the Psychology of Letter Writing. This was the third day of presenting and having watched all of my fellow classmates present, I was finally ready for it to be my turn.
Leading up to my presentation, I was very nervous, for I have a minor fear of public speaking. In high school, whenever I had to present for a class, I would struggle a lot, and many times I tried to bargain with my teacher for them to allow me not to present (It didn’t work). However, I knew once I got to college, I would have to present a lot, and I needed to get over this fear.
In terms of my presentation for this class, leading up to it, I was very nervous, but after seeing my classmates present, I realized it didn’t seem so bad. I had also practiced a lot, so not only was I less anxious, but I also trusted myself that I knew the information well.
When it finally came to my turn to present, I spoke a lot better than I expected and didn’t get too anxious. I believe my public speaking will improve as my college career continues.
